My Healing Walk

Your Word is a lamp unto my feet

Direct them Most High

"Who is like our God?"

I ask

Louder, softer, I repeat

It is all I have and convinced all I need

My feet walked two miles

Today...

in remembrance of a soul and souls

Gone too soon

Aborted destines

I cry out to You, I hear nothing but silence

Pen a poem, it's like breathing

I don't know any other way

So now

Im trying to look through a Word

I need a word

Give me a word God!

Surely you have one

I need a phrase

Something

I need an anchor

I can't sink

I can't wallow

Let me look through a word and

swing it open

Try to make meaning

Try to make sense

of these losses

The rhythm of my walk slows

Because it's too much to carry

This deluge of tears

They come like when the levies broke

Bursting forth

I tried to hold them back

Collecting hurts and sorrows in my throat

They are hard to swallow

and my lips... they quiver

So I resist the urge to stop them

Release

Release

Release

That's better

That's your Word for me
